Programs
African Vet Conservation Volunteer
Spend weeks carrying out adrenaline-packed wildlife captures and vet work.
You’ll assist top wildlife vets in game captures, immobilizations, and species health checks. Expect long days in the field, hands-on involvement in treatments, helicopter darting sessions, and theory sessions in the evenings — a true wildlife vet adventure!
Namibia Wildlife Veterinary Experience
Join teams working on desert-adapted wildlife and livestock health in Namibia.
Work with veterinarians tackling the challenges of wildlife in arid zones. You’ll assist with immobilizations, blood sampling, tagging, and disease surveillance while learning about ecological balance and conservation medicine.
Botswana Wildlife Conservation
Experience Botswana’s wild spaces through practical conservation and veterinary Practices.
Learn wildlife tracking, sedation, field surgery, and community vet work in Botswana’s beautiful Okavango region. The course balances conservation science with real veterinary operations in the field.

Whether you are a Veterinarian, Vet Student, Vet Nurse, or an Adventurer passionate about wildlife, our programs provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain real skills and experience alongside expert wildlife veterinarians.Not only an adventure of a lifetime but also a chance to make a genuine impact. You will actively participate in a variety of tasks, including animal health checks, treatments, relocation etc. Under the guidance of our experienced wildlife vets, you’ll learn how to handle different species, administer medications, and assist in vital conservation efforts.
Programs run across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and are designed to provide up to 40 structured hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) within immersive wildlife veterinary settings..
But it’s not all work and no play! Our program includes thrilling adventures and unforgettable excursions. Explore breathtaking national parks, embark on exhilarating game drives, and witness the wonders of wildlife in their natural habitats and forge lifelong friendships with fellow participants who share your passion for wildlife.
Experience Highlights
- Wildlife capture, anesthesia & diagnostics in the field

Program Costs
A project fee covers your accommodation, meals, and all transfers during your stay. Costs vary slightly by location. To confirm a place, a 50% deposit is required, with the balance due 30 days before arrival.

Accommodation
Our accommodation will be dictated by the places we are working and will range from 5-star lodges with verandas overlooking the savannah, to rustic campsites with drop toilets and showers under the evening stars, and much in between!
Regardless of setting, accommodation is always safe, clean, and designed to immerse you in the African wilderness.
Fitness Requirements
Due to the isolated nature of our locations and the demanding nature of our work, a certain level of fitness is required to join this project. While we aim to make activities as comfortable as possible, some physical effort is necessary to ensure safety and efficiency.
Participants should be able to:
- Climb up and down from a high pickup truck
- Comfortably run 50 metres
- Walk 3 kilometres over rocky and uneven ground
- Not suffer from severe or unmanaged depression or anxiety
If physical or mental health challenges pose safety risks, participants may be required to sit out certain activities. In severe cases, we reserve the right to terminate a stay if undisclosed or unmanaged conditions are found.
